This Will Be The Day I Die

“So bye bye Miss American Pie.”

The religious establishment of the day lost control of the people.  Many were following a man whose message did not line up with their laws.  This establishment was offended by this man’s message and instead of listening to him they plotted and schemed against him.  They gathered false evidence that they could use to put this man to death.

“Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry.”

Once they had successfully arrested this man, they took him to the home of the High Priest to present their claims against him and to hear his response.  The outcome was an emotional agreement that this man was worthy of death.

“And them good ol’ boys were drinking whiskey and rye.”

Now the man was bound and led away to be handed over to the Governor to fulfill their death penalty but the Governor did not find the charges credible.  They took him to another leader, unknown to them, who was excited to meet him.  After the leader was bored of the show, he sent him back to the Governor.

“Singin’ this’ll be the day that I die.”

In those days it was custom to have the people release one prisoner before the Passover.  Since the Governor did not want to have anything to do with this man or the accusations against him, he decided to let the crowd decide who would go free, an innocent man or a known serial killer.  An option he must have thought was an obvious choice that would get him off the hook and put an end to the madness.

The crowd, through the influence of “mob-mentality”, chose the serial killer.

“This’ll be the day that I die.”

This man died a horrific death.  It was so gruesome that the instigators could not stomach to watch.  They left satisfied with the result.  The thorn in their side was dead and now they can return to normal.

“And while Lennon read a book on Marx, the quartet practiced in the park, and we sang dirges in the dark, the day the music died.”

This story is alive today, although the cast is different.  Like the arrest that led to the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ, the people are not interested in a conversation.  They are only interested punishing those who do not comply without question.

“So come on Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack Flash sat on a candlestick.  ‘Cause fire is the devil’s only friend.”

Those who do not agree have questions.  The first question was, “Why?”  The answer was, “because.”

Those who do not agree challenged “because”.  They wanted to go deeper.  To know both sides of the coin in order to make a decision.  Instead of having a conversation, the establishment shut down the voices who were releasing more than “because” answers.  They were presenting research that showed the risks and dangers involved in such a decision.  Information that would have created more hesitancy that they were not equipped to handle.

That strategy only caused more questions which spawned more accusations, igniting the mob-mentality.  They are calling them anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists, selfish and the majority of the crowd are wanting them punished!

Punished for what?  For asking questions that the establishment cannot answer.  For having questions the media has turned their ears off to.

Will a million dollars satisfy your question?  How about a hundred-dollar gift card but you have to get the jab first.  Not good enough?  How about your own government pointing the finger at you for having questions, causing a fierce divide by calling this “The Pandemic of the Unvaccinated”.

Now here we are.  The mob has convinced our government to break its own laws to appease the crowd by bullying the unvaccinated into compliance.  All because of “mob-mentality”.

“And in the streets the children screamed, the lovers cried, and the poets dreamed, but not a work was spoken.  The church bells all were broken.”

Their voices are given time on radio, television, and social media.  Punish them!  Refuse them access to healthcare!  Deny them jobs!  Orphan them in your families and reject their presence in society!

Before you point the finger and blame those who are unvaccinated, remember that the mentality you are falling prey to is the same mentality that continues to crucify innocent people who were accused of crimes they did not commit.

“And the three men I admire most, The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.  They caught the last train for the coast.  The day the music died.”
